How we think about AI interview copilots
Every generation gets a new coaching tool. Cracking the Coding Interview (book). Interviewing.io (mock interviews with strangers). Grokking System Design (structured prep). MiPrep AI is the next one — real-time, resume-grounded, gaze-corrected. Every one of those tools has always been available to people with time, money, or both. What MiPrep AI does is make live coaching cheap enough that the candidate whose parents can't afford a career coach also gets an edge. That is our ethics stance.
What we build
A private HUD that shows the candidate a prompt. The candidate delivers the answer in their voice. The interviewer is talking to the candidate, not to an AI. What MiPrep AI shows is a suggestion — you still have to know your resume, remember your projects, and speak clearly.
What we won't build
Voice-cloning to speak for you. Deepfake video that isn't gaze correction. Automated resume fabrication. Anything that lies about who you are or what you've done. We ship gaze correction because you looking away to read a HUD is a UX problem, not a moral one — everyone reads their notes during phone screens.
Where we draw the line
MiPrep AI is a coaching tool. If you use it to prep for interviews you can't actually do, you'll still fail — the interviewer will follow up, and the HUD can't invent context you don't have. The best users treat MiPrep AI like a smart study buddy: it drills you the night before, and reminds you what you already know when the pressure hits.
